The ‘mamas’ of the Kenyan Maasai Mara make these beautiful dog collars with great talent and a sense of color. All collars are unique and no two are the same. The Kenyan Collection is intended to give the Kenyan population an opportunity to support themselves. This makes them less dependent on donations and aid, and with the purchase of these unique products you directly support the poor and often underprivileged population.
The Mamas make these collars near their home so they can take care of their children and livestock at the same time. Each collar has a different design and they are always different. Making such a collar takes about a day’s work. A lot of attention is paid to the quality of the dog collars. Every 4th or 5th bead is anchored in the leather so that the beads cannot come loose during normal use.
The collar itself is made of sturdy black leather with a handmade brass buckle. The inside of the collar is lined with leather for extra comfort for your dog.
